I have literally created a reddit profile for the purpose of ranting about this. Or there's a third option where they are so fucking incompetent that there's some fucky code that happens once you connect to Steam, and it'll fuck things up for old non-steam bought games, idk, i ain't a programmer, Ubisoft got a lot of complaints about this issue, I've read it in their forums, its known, they don't give a shit, don't ever give them money again, play their games via ''alternative'' sources, it'll give you less grief.

Now, the reason I think it might not be an Ubi-Steam issue is that I'm trying to play Splinter Cell, i bought it via Ubisoft way back, and it gives me this issue, while I don't have the same issue, weirdly enough, launching Black Flag which i got from Steam.

You pay them, and all you get in return is a worse way of playing their game than if you were to ''get them'' from ''other'' sources. (My previous message got effed up due to Grammarly sucking)Īs far as i get it, it's an issue caused by either having connected to Ubisoft via Steam by buying their games there OR with old games. Rant (sort of) over: does anyone else have this utterly BS issue as well? And if so, do y'all know of a way to get rid of it? Besides having to put up with not playing my favourite city builder games, that is. Anything to make those corporate morons take a more severe hit than, well, me whining about it on Reddit, just as an arbitrary (or not) example.Īnyway. I really really REALLY hope the community backlash against Ubisoft's insanely dumb "business strategies" will reach critical mass soon, and that the subsequent public outcry will (somehow) cost those idiots hundreds of millions of dollars. So what gives?! Are Ubisoft really THAT mental that they're not even going to let us play games AT ALL any more without a security check with every start-up?

All of whom are far more popular platforms than Uplay. We all know Ubisoft are some of the biggest tards in the gaming industry (possibly even THE biggest), but why the flippety fucksandwiches would this even be a thing? Every time I start up one of the later Anno games (which quite frankly are the only things I still/currently use Uplay for, and only due to being FORCED to put up with it to play those games), I'm forced to input my password or I can't proceed with playing my game, or even booting it up.
